It lets you turn the desk accessories you use less often into stand-alone applications. You can then organize your DAs in folders or put them on the desktop as you would regular applications. Also, since a converted DA will have its own application heap, you can keep problematic DAs from crashing the system by adjusting their individual heap setting using Get Info… as you do for applications. I like it much better than any others I've seen, since it can do plots, remember variables, provide a running text record of the work done, define functions - I put a lot of bells and whistles in.

System 7 compatibility is the only change in this version. (System 6 users do not need to update.) Now, with Super NotePad, you have control over font, size, style, the number and size of pages, #chars per page (and color on Macs with color capability.) Super NotePad keeps the simplicity of the original notepad with the addition of several useful features.

SerialPrint II is useful in cases where fancy formatting is less important than fast printing, e.g. draft program listings and text from BBS sessions. Files to be printed by SerialPrint II must have type TEXT and contain a carriage return at the end of each line; the text portion of the Clipboard can also be printed.
